Reflection: “Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.” Hosea 6:1
Response: A message of hope and a prescription for the unfailing love of God for His people is offered in this verse. Despite the Israelites’ history of disobedience and idolatry—God never changed in His love towards them even when He judged their rebellion.
Though the Israelites had fallen short in their relationship with God, God still prophesied about a day for the fulfillment of blessings and God’s favor in their lives. This day would bring a new beginning filled with the joy of the Lord when they leaned on God. This bright future would come out of their trouble for a new hope through faith and confidence in God. God would be thought of and seen in a different light, not just as a giver of material blessing, but as the desire of their heart.
Live exceptionally- in balance, freedom, and rest. ™ Come, let us return to the Lord. Even when we fail and miss the mark, God’s love always prevails. His love is consistent, perfect, and never fails.
