Reflection: “For I satisfy the weary ones…” Jeremiah 31:25
Response: Often the weight of our experiences, especially when very trying, overwhelms our ability to cope with emotional stress, anxiety, or pain. Thus, we may look for the easiest way to feel better in our weariness.
There are many avenues to obtain relief when we feel tired or drained. Comfort can be found in television, sports, social media, or other activities we enjoy. We also can discover cheer through the company of friends, family, or loved ones.
While all of these help us find some break from the drama and trauma of life’s challenges and the world around us, they only provide temporary solace.
People are variable—sometimes inaccessible due to their issues and trials. Often time escapes the ability for connection and fellowship. And many times, the remedies for which we seek comfort insufficiently address loss, suffering, and other extenuating troubles.
In contrast, God declares, “For I satisfy the weary ones…”. He distinguishes Himself as a steady source of hope. His character is love, and He intends good and not evil for those that turn to Him.
Even when we fall short or misstep—He still loves us with an everlasting love and draws us back to Him with kindness. When everything around us may be flailing, He builds, keeps, and sustains us.
God is like refreshing water that satisfies every thirst we need to quench. It is only through the guarantee of His presence that we find completeness. He leaves nothing missing, nothing lacking when we choose to rest in Him, and His rest is in us.
Live exceptionally- in balance, freedom, and rest. ™ Are you weary? Are you feeling tired? Be reminded today that God is active. When you are weak, He is your strength. When you think you can’t go on any longer, He gives you supernatural energy. Seek Him and in His presence—find healing, wholeness, and rest that satisfies your soul.
